Bedroom space & bed clearance calculator — Hong Kong
Use the bed frame’s outside measurements, including the headboard. This simple layout assumes a rectangular room with the bed’s head against a wall.
How bedroom clearance is calculated
For a centred bed, clearance on each side = (room width − outside bed width) ÷ 2. Against a side wall, open-side clearance = room width − outside bed width. Foot clearance = room length − outside bed length. Floor coverage = bed area ÷ room area × 100%.
Plan your Hong Kong bedroom before choosing a larger bed
A wider bed uses more of the room even when mattress names look similar. Measure the usable space after wardrobes and other furniture, use the frame’s outside dimensions, and check the lift, doorway and delivery route separately.
Common questions
Should I enter the mattress or bed-frame size?
Use the outside bed-frame size, including the headboard and any projecting parts. Mattress dimensions alone can underestimate the floor space needed.
